Coaching is a partnership, with a focus on gaining skills.
Our coaches provide clients with structure, encouragement, and feedback to address their specific challenges. They build out clients’ parenting skill sets, apply techniques to clients’ situations, and create accountability for following through on their goals.
Coaching is best viewed as a partnership with parents that empowers them to achieve goals through actionable steps. It is different than psychotherapy because of its narrow focus on parenting and its action orientation. Coaching is also more flexible than therapy, because parents are connecting with their coaches throughout the week.
Coaching begins with learning about your goals and the areas that are most difficult for you as a parent.
You’ll provide your coach with a roadmap about where and how the parenting stresses occur. You’ll then prioritize areas to address and skills to build each week. Your parenting coach will create an action plan with you to streamline your efforts and to enhance your motivation. Your coach will check in on you during the week to provide encouragement, to ensure that you remain on track, and to help you manage stressful events.
